In this section we will aim to explain to you in more detail about our company and the trading policy we operate.
Armac was formed in 1929, the name being an amalgam of the two founders, Armstrong and McGrail to give Armac. Armstrong's involvement was brief but Harold McGrail stayed at the helm until his retirement in 1988 aged 83. His son Bryan then took over the reins until his own retirement in 1996 at which point the position of Managing Director was shared jointly between two of Bryan's sons Paul and Mark. Armac is still a private and family run business, and we now have the fourth generation (Paul's son Richard) working in the sales team for our distribution division 'Martin'.
Armac has always concentrated on the traditional antique style brass fittings but in more recent time has expanded to offer some of the more contemporary fittings. This has enabled Armac to widen its market through these products, selling more now to the kitchen and bathroom industry as well as the traditional antique reproduction furniture market.
We have a busy and productive design team constantly looking at the market to plan for new ranges and finishes that will appeal to today's furniture buyers. This website will be used to showcase these new products as soon as they have been prototyped and we have many new designs to launch over the next 12 months.
Please bookmark our website and visit us regularly we guarantee there will always be something new to see or read.
Back in 2004 we made the decision to acquire our principal UK customer (Martin & Co.) And establish them within the factory walls as a separate distribution division.
You can visit their website at www.martin.co.uk and purchase online all of the products seen on our site as well as a great many more. All sourced from quality manufacturers both here in the UK and across Europe.
The one over-riding feature of all that we make at Armac, and sell through Martin is the quality of the products we will put our name to.
All the Armac products are made from British brass to the highest quality. We are well aware of the 'imported' article but we will not compromise our quality and reputation to produce inferior products to try and compete at the 'cheaper' end of the market. We at Armac are very proud of our product and will always strive to maintain our standards whilst endeavouring to stay as competitive as possible. In a matter of choice, we believe that "quality will out", and the same ethos exists with our distribution division. We are constantly seeking to add to our portfolio of products for the furniture, kitchen, and interior design industry but we will only take on that which we believe to be of the highest quality.
